Welcome to summer!

As you can see in the photo, Murphy (on left) and Mandy are telling dog jokes and celebrating that summer is in the air! Time to think about your dissertation and how you will keep (or build) your momentum over the quarter. Let's lay out the quarter week by week. Then write in any family/ work related events/ issues.

Week 1              6/1-6/7

Week 2              6/8-6/14

Week 3              6/15-6/21

Week 4              6/22-6-28

Week 5              6/29-7/5 (7/4 is US Independence Day)

Week 6              7/6-7/12

Week 7              7/13-7-19

Week 8              7/20-7/26

Week 9              7/27-8/2

Week 10            8/3-8-9

Week 11            8/10-7/16

Why not try something new this quarter? Decide on one completed section/ or a certain number of pages for each week. This is your weekly goal. So where does that leave you on week 11? That is your quarter goal.

Summer is often a hard time to work when there are activities going on and the weather is calling you to go outside. Why not find a way to take your laptop to the outside to work for a while each week– on the deck, porch, or maybe at a café or coffee shop with an outside area. You may not be able to write with things going on, but how about reading and taking some notes on some articles? In my experience it is better to give yourself a little of what you are longing for, so you don’t feel deprived!

Wishing you wonderful progress this quarter!
Next time we will examine Chapter 4 Results for qualitative and mixed method studies. Do you have an issue or a question that you would like me to discuss in a future post? Would you like to be a guest writer? Send me your ideas! leann.stadtlander@waldenu.edu
